the Ark was made of acacia wood and coated in pure gold, both internally and externally. It was approximately 1.25 meters long, 75 centimeters wide and 75 centimeters high. The Ark was adorned with significant details and ornaments. On each of the longer sides of the Ark, there were gold rings to allow it to be carried with gold-plated acacia rods, which passed through the rings. These rods were never to be removed from the Ark. At the top of the Ark, there was a lid called the "mercy seat" or "cap of atonement." This lid was made of pure gold and featured two sculptures of winged cherubs facing each other. The wings of the cherubim extended over the lid, forming a space known as the "place of atonement." According to the scriptures, it was in this space that the divine presence, known as the Shekinah, manifested itself. Inside the Ark of the Covenant were kept sacred objects, such as the stone tablets containing the Ten Commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai, a pot of manna, and Aaron's rod, which flourished as a sign of divine power. The Ark of the Covenant had a profound religious significance for the Israelites. It was considered the place where God dwelt and the symbol of the covenant between God and the people of Israel. It is believed that the Ark possessed divine powers and that God's presence was directly associated with it.
