But lately, this peace had become a burden, a constant feeling that something was wrong. Naquela noite, the house seemed quieter than usual. A silence that grated on the ears, as if the walls were holding their breath. The shadows cast by the flickering candles on the walls twisted into grotesque shapes., as if they were alive.
