Jared Leto as Niander Wallace - Blade Runner 2049

Niander Wallace is a key antagonist in Blade Runner 2049, played by Jared Leto. Wallace is the head of the Wallace Corporation, which has taken over after the collapse of the Tyrell Corporation. His company manufactures replicants, bioengineered beings that look and act like humans. Wallace is obsessed with advancing replicant technology, especially making them capable of reproduction, which he believes would allow humanity to expand and conquer new worlds.

Wallace is blind and uses small drones to help him see, adding to his mysterious and unsettling presence. He’s portrayed as a cold and calculating figure, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his vision.

As for Jared Leto, he’s known for diving deep into his roles. For Blade Runner 2049, he reportedly wore special contact lenses that blinded him during filming to really embody Wallace's blindness. Leto’s method acting often brings an intense, immersive quality to his characters, and Wallace is no exception.
