In cities, a dense web of electric wires would crisscross between buildings like endless strings of vines, running along every street and sidewalk to provide access to electricity. Without wireless capabilities, miles of phone and telegraph wires would also accumulate overhead. The tangle of power lines drooping along every passageway would make for a low skyline profile crowded out by wires.
