The Duchy of Antrim Article PUBLISHED PUBLIC Nestled along the pristine shores of Lake Michigan, the Duchy of Antrim is a land of verdant forests, fertile farmland, and abundant fishing waters. Ruled by Duke Lambert from the fair castle Glen Arbor, Antrim provides lumber, produce, and caught fish to feed the royal court. Inland from Antrim's rugged lake coast lie broad valleys and gently rolling hills covered in stands of mighty white pine.Logging camps along the unincorporated Burnett, Cedar, and Rapid Rivers harvest Antrim's timber bounty to construct ships, buildings, and furniture. Schooners heavy with lumber sail Lake Michigan to trade with other duchies. Pastoral scenes of orchards, fields and grazing livestock characterize Antrim's interior agricultural lands. Farmers send bushels of apples, potatoes, grains and feed crops via wagon routes to both supply the duchy residents and trade partners. Fishing skiffs work the rich offshore waters teeming with whitefish and lake trout. Though isolated, Antrimians have developed a self-reliant character, with local governance by unofficial town councils and clergy.
