**The Man and the Money**

Once upon a time in a quiet village, lived a humble man named Ravi. He worked hard every day as a potter, shaping clay with care, making just enough to feed his family. One day, while digging for clay near the river, his shovel struck something hard. Curious, he dug deeper and uncovered a small iron chest filled with gold coins.

At first, Ravi was overwhelmed. “All my problems are over,” he whispered. He took the chest home, locked it away, and planned a better life—new house, new clothes, a better school for his ren.

But something changed.

He no longer woke up at dawn to make pots. “Why work when I’m rich?” he said. Days passed, and he started spending more—on things he didn’t need. People in the village, once warm and friendly, became distant. They whispered, asked for loans, and some even tried to trick him.

His peaceful life turned into one of paranoia and loneliness. He hired guards, built high walls, and trusted no one. The money had given him freedom but stolen his joy.

One rainy evening, Ravi sat alone by his window, watching the storm roll in. The chest sat in the corner, gleaming. He stood up, picked it up, and walked back to the river where he found it. With one last look, he tossed it in.

As the chest sank into the dark waters, a strange calm washed over him.

He went back home, shaped some clay, and smiled for the first time in a long while.
