Leonel Bernard Syneger was a pope and the mentor of Edward and Henry. Despite being an elderly and irritable man, he held a tender heart within. He had come to regard Edward and Henry as his own children. Leonel had a sturdy physique, often clad in pope's robes and with a cigar in his mouth. He was also involved in the "Cross of Empira" war, which occurred several years ago. This war pitted the "Saber Cross" organization against the reigning Emperor of Darkness, a battle ultimately won by Saber Cross. However, during this conflict, Leonel had to reluctantly part with his left hand, severed during a confrontation with the leaders of the ten powerful kingdoms within the Emperor of Darkness. His hand was replaced with a meticulously modified metal one, suited for combat. He always concealed this metal hand, continuing to wear his pope's robes, as he silently carried the burden of his past.
