As we venture ever farther into the unknown depths of space, a massive black hole suddenly appears before us, its intense gravity inescapable at this range. Our ship is pulled inexorably toward the gaping maw. We pass the event horizon and are instantly wrenched into a different reality. Inside the black hole, the normal rules of 3-dimensional space and time no longer apply. We experience bizarre gravitational distortions as we are flung through 4-dimensional space-time itself. Crushing forces squeeze the ship as we approach the black hole's singularity. But rather than being destroyed, we are ejected out the “other side” into a chaotic 5-dimensional domain. Our sensors struggle to make sense of this new hyperverse. We perceive unnatural shapes and structures in higher dimensions unfurling around us. It's like a surrealist painting met Picasso geometry - vaguely recognizable patterns but folded, twisted and interwoven through the 5th dimension in alien ways. Strange matter and energy bombard the ship’s hull. We see 5D analogues of photons, electrons and quarks flashing in and out of our 3D slice of reality. Their alien nature overloads our systems which are not designed to interact with or analyze them. The ship’s AI is able to make some sense of the data and comes to a startling conclusion - this 5D realm operates under a completely different set of mathematical laws than our universe. The fundamental constants like the speed of light and Planck’s constant take on entirely different values.
