The creature stood gaunt and skeletal, its skin stretched taut over its bones. Its flesh was a sickly white, almost translucent, and its veins bulged out like dark rivers beneath the surface. Its eyes were like black holes, devoid of any light or life. It moved with a slow, shuffling gait, its bones creaking with every step. As it drew closer, I could see the details of its form more clearly. Its skin was not just pale, it was also cracked and peeling, as if it had been baked in the sun for too long. Its bones were sharp and jagged, and they protruded from its flesh in a number of places. Its teeth were long and yellowed, and they hung down over its lower jaw like fangs. The creature reached out a hand towards me, its fingers long and bony. I flinched away, and it let out a frustrated grunt. It turned and lumbered away, back into the darkness from which it came.
