A sacred and arguably the most focal point in every house. Historically, for a long time it was fit only for a specific gender ( ie women) and even a particular race. The Kitchen is a politically complex yet beautiful space that has now evolved to become a democratic platform for sharing, learning and experimenting. From preparing meals to confessing and sharing at the kitchen counter, the kitchen welcomes vulnerability, stillness and even meditation. The Kitchen also performs in a unique, musical way. The sizzling, the crackling, the popping, the boiling, the whisking, the chopping - all of these scrumptious sounds make the kitchen reach its full performative potential. However, how often do we really notice this and give it appreciation? It seems that in this overly visual world we have forgotten how to listen deeply. How to pay attention to everyday sounds, let alone find delight in noticing the sounds that the kitchen and the cooking process make. Our curiosity and passion in this food project aims to bring you back to the sonic senses and vibrations that the cooking and preparing of a meal produces. And what a privilege it is to find abundance and variety in your every day meal options!
