I need a drawing This revision of the Uniform Rules and Practices for Documentary Credits (better known by its acronym in English, UCP1 ) is the sixth since they were first enacted in 1933. It is the result of over three years of work by the International Chamber of Commerce's Banking Techniques and Practices Commission (CCI). The ICC, founded in 1919, its primary objective was to facilitate the flow of international trade at a time when nationalism and protectionism posed serious threats to world trade. That was the spirit with which the UCP were first presented: mitigate the confusion created by certain countries that promoted their own national rules on documentary credit practices.
