This queen, named Nzinga, had a unique practice of making men fight to the death before she would sleep with the victor. Nzinga, who ruled Angola in the 1600s, was known for her extreme power obsession and preferred not to be called "Queen," instead identifying as a king. She even dressed as a man while ruling to assert her dominance by reversing traditional gender roles. Additionally, Nzinga was notorious for maintaining a large harem of young men, referred to as male wives. There were about 80 men in this harem, who were required to dress as women and perform female roles in the palace. At night, Nzinga would randomly select two of these male wives and force them to participate in brutal fights.
