Desfeiteira is a name given in the Amazon to one of the fandango dances, of Portuguese origin and of a playful and humorous nature, since it involves the payment of gifts. Dancing around the hall, couples must pass in front of the orchestra, formed by guitar, cavaquinho, flute and sometimes trombone. The moment the music stops, the couple who stood in front of the orchestra is forced to say a verse, always improvised by the gentleman. Not doing well on the task, the couple is booed and must pay a forfeit.
