Emma Rose Roberts, born February 10, 1991, in Rhinebeck, NY, is an American actress, recording artist, and producer. Her career has spanned multiple genres throughout film and television, but she is most recognized for her work in the horror and thriller genres. Roberts has received various accolades, including a Young Artist Award, an MTV Movie & TV Award, and a ShoWest Award.

Roberts made her acting debut at age 9 in the film “Blow” (2001) alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz.  In 2004, she was cast as main character Addie Singer on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Unfabulous,” which aired from 2004-2007 and turned Roberts into a star among the teen set. During this time, Roberts' film career also continued to flourish, with lead roles in the big-screen family comedies “Aquamarine” (2006) and “Nancy Drew” (2007).  She has since starred in many films, such as “Wild Child” (2008), “Hotel for Dogs” (2009), “Valentine's Day” (2010), “The Art of Getting By” (2011), “Scream 4” (2011), “We’re the Millers” (2013), "Nerve" (2016), "Little Italy" (2018), “Holidate” (2020), and "Space Cadet" (2024).

Roberts gained further recognition for her starring roles in multiple seasons of the FX anthology series “American Horror Story” (2013–present) and for the lead role of Chanel Oberlin on the Fox horror-comedy series “Scream Queens” (2015–2016).

Outside of her acting career, Roberts has also dabbled in music.  The “Unfabulous” soundtrack, on which Roberts performed every song, served as her unofficial debut album in 2005. That same year, she released the standalone single “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.” She has featured on several other soundtracks, including that of her own film “Aquamarine.”

In 2017, Roberts co-founded the online book club Belletrist.
