Benny Hill

Alfred Hawthorn Hill, known as Benny Hill, was an English comic actor and singer, born on 21 January 1924 in Southampton and died on 20 April 1992 in Teddington.

He is particularly known for his comedy television show called The Benny Hill Show, broadcast in Great Britain from 1955 to 1989 and which was among the most watched programmes in the United Kingdom, with more than 21 million viewers in 1971.

In 2006, he was voted the 17th biggest star of English television by the British public.
