Maggie Gyllenhaal (Ca 2002)

Maggie Gyllenhaal, born Margalit Ruth Gyllenhaal on November 16, 1977, in New York City, is an acclaimed American actress and filmmaker. She comes from a family deeply rooted in the film industry, being the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Foner, and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

Maggie began her career with small roles in her father's films and gained wider recognition with her performance in Secretary (2002), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She continued to impress with roles in Sherrybaby (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), and Crazy Heart (2009), for which she received an Academy Award nomination.

In addition to her acting career, Maggie made her directorial debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter (2021), which won the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
