Neko Musume [3rd] (Gegege no Kitarou 1985)

Right, THIS is '80s Neko Musume which most older fans had been waited for, and perhaps to adore of. Like among other incarnations of her, Neko Musume was one of major supporting characters in Gegege no Kitaro series which sometimes she has a deep crush on Kitaro, and in this case for third series since 1985. She is, of course, classified as the best tomboy heroine character in a new century (saved for the first (1968), second (1971), and the fifth (2007) one), not to mention that she befriended with human girl, Yumeko Tendo, and become one of closest friends.

There's a side note, however, a little 'facial' transformation into Bake-Neko was supposed to be perfect, but unfortunately, it might not seem to be perfect and somewhat more grotesque.
