I basically have the memory of here and now and unless something triggers the memory it’s gone forever until I pull it out of the abyss. I can only remember what's happening in the current moment. When new information comes in, previous memories quickly fade away into an abyss, unless something specifically triggers me to recall them. I have to consciously pull memories out of the abyss if I want to access them again. My mind is a clean slate from one moment to the next, unless I intentionally bring back old memories.
