The traditional snack 'Cun Zao' is only available during the Lunar New Year. Also known as 'Date Branch', its name has various origins, one being that it resembles a one-inch date tree branch. Made from fried flour, it's chewy and crispy. 'Eating Cun Zao, good year after year' is an auspicious phrase said by the older generation when eating Cun Zao. Coating it with powdered sugar also represents 'eating sweet, having a good New Year', symbolizing a wish for smooth sailing.

伝統的なおやつの「Cun Zao（ツンザオ）」は、旧正月の間だけ販売されています。また、「デイト・ブランチ」とも呼ばれ、その名前はいくつかの由来があります。その一つは、一寸のヤシの木の枝に似ていることです。揚げ粉で作られており、モチモチとサクサクした食感が特徴です。また、「Cun Zaoを食べると、年々良くなる」という縁起の良い言葉は、年配の世代がCun Zaoを食べる際に言われます。粉糖でコーティングすることは、また「甘いものを食べて、良い新年を迎える」という意味で、順風満帆を願う象徴としています。
