The two of them talked for a while, and Rob didn't even feel the need to step in—Danielle was doing well enough forming chemistry with James on her own, talking about their jobs, their homes, their lives... She only mentioned Rob once or twice, with little elaboration, and he wasn't sure if she was doing that to not concern James about her love life, or if her Autopilot was doing him a favor and keeping her from dwelling on him for too long, but either way he felt relieved. Eventually the conversation meandered over to the flight, and what had happened on it, with James apologizing for not doing anything to help her when someone attempted to —but Rob decided to take the mic for this moment, having Danielle say that it was alright, that he did what he could, and that meeting up with her here and now was more than enough. A bit awkward, sure... but fortunately, James seemed to appreciate the gesture.
