THE LONELY RAINDROP Like a raindrop from the clouds Hitting the ground at a huge force Pushed downwards by gravity amidst crowds Reaching down alone; oblivious of the source Fellow raindrops;the crowds unaware of my presence Falling on my back; pushing me deep to the soil Wanting to join them but not of the essence Splitting me and sending me off the boil Going completely unnoticed for I make no sound For below the surface I do sink Swallowed by dry and hungry ground No longer do I exist nor can I think Succeeding days adorned with sunshine Totally erasing my presence's sign
