The interstellar battle space-station Columbus, a hulk eight km long with a mass

The interstellar battle space-station Columbus, a hulk eight km long with a mass of almost one hundred and fifty million tons, had been assembled in Earth’s orbit between the Twenty-Fifth and Twenty-Sixth centuries and inaugurated in 2512. It had left on March 21st 2523, aimed for the Trappist 1 System, with the purpose of establishing a colony on the planet Trappist 1d. Within it, suspended in cryostatic sleep, thirty thousand volunteers, in equal ratios men and women, determined to give rise to a new human civilisation. It was built with a modular system which would allow, once it reached its destination, the colonists to use parts of the ship to build their first modular homes.
