As we left the hospital, the dark presence followed us, its shadowy tendrils reaching out like grasping fingers. My mother, Emily, and I quickened our pace, but it kept pace with us, always lurking just out of sight. We reached our car, and my mother fumbled for the keys, her hands shaking. As we drove away, the presence kept pace with us, its dark form blurring the edges of our vision. Suddenly, the car sputtered and died. We coasted to the side of the road, stranded. The presence closed in, its whispers growing louder, more urgent. "Get out while you still can." My mother tried to restart the car, but it wouldn't budge. Emily and I exchanged a terrified glance. We were trapped. The presence began to take shape, its darkness coalescing into twisted, humanoid forms. They surrounded the car, their eyes glowing with malevolent intent. My mother screamed, trying to shield us. But I knew we had to get out of there. I pushed open the door and made a run for it, Emily and my mother close behind. We sprinted down the deserted road, the presence closing in. Its whispers grew to a deafening roar, threatening to consume us. Just when we thought all was lost, a car screeched to a halt beside us. A stranger yelled, "Get in!" We didn't hesitate. We leapt in, and the stranger sped away, leaving the darkness behind.
