MC: Hello, excuse me po.
(They ignore him, and talk behind his back.)
MC: Maayong aga, may I know where the Auditorium is-
(A graduate scrutinizes him, from head to toe.)
A sneery-looking graduate: I thought janitors aren’t supposed to clean at this time. Can’t you see? The graduation is about to begin.
MC: Pardon me, but I’m one of the grad-
A sneery-looking graduate: The Auditorium is for the graduation, a formal event for formal graduates, not for filthy beggars with unprofessional clothing! Go beg out in the streets, where you uncivilized people belong!
(The graduate laughs with their friends as they proceed; the illustrations show the judgemental looks, while murmured insults are emphasized in the comics.)
(The ceremony finally starts, and they call on the Class Valedictorian for the welcome address.)
(It turns out to be the main character’s name; the illustration is dramatic and the MC is conspicuous, as figures whisper in shock as the MC goes up on the stage)
MC: [Starts with stating his name]
(Illustration goes on for a bit, before he ends)
MC: Today I wear this (traditional outfit) to not only represent myself, but my people, pride, and heritage as well. I am Ilonggo and I am proud. I am not ashamed of the rich and diverse culture that has made me who I am today, your valedictorian. It is time that we, as a community, learn to accept and understand the differences that make us uniquely beautiful. I am an Ilonggo, always and forever. (End with an ilonggo phrase)
