Upon arriving in Canaan, the Hebrews encountered other populations, which generated conflicts and the need to adapt. During their stay in Egypt, and subsequently upon their return to the “Promised Land”, the Hebrews began to consolidate their identity and unity under the guidance of Moses. It was on Mount Sinai where Moses received the Decalogue from Yahweh, establishing the religious and moral foundations of the Hebrew people.
