In the film, the residents of Brgy. Mulanay faces significant health challenges due to their reliance on non-potable water, resulting in a high incidence of diarrhea. Despite being a licensed physician, Dra. Ria effectively takes on the role of a public health nurse in addressing this issue by conducting a thorough assessment of the community's health status and identifying the contributing factors to the high incidence of the disease. Following this, Dra. Ria carries out medical interventions, including prescribing medication provided by the Department of Health (DOH) to patients suffering from diarrhea. In addition to treating patients, she provides comprehensive advice and education to the entire community, emphasizing the importance of boiling water from the well to prevent further cases of diarrhea. Lastly, Dra. Ria takes on the role of an advocate for the people of Mulanay, initiating fundraising efforts to construct deep wells by engaging with the Barangay Captain, the Mayor, and leveraging support from her mom and her social network.
