Situated along the treacherous rocky shores of frigid Lake Superior lies the remote and heavily forested Duchy of Chippewa. Ruled by Duke Strongheart from the North Woods Timber Fortress, Chippewa provides lumber, furs, minerals, and safe harbor from stormy northern seas.

Blanketed by primeval stands of tall white pines and hemlocks, Chippewa’s greatest asset is its timber. Teams of rugged lumberjacks brave harsh winters to harvest the valuable wood. Rafts and barges haul logs downriver to feed the sawmills of allied fiefs. This boreal forest also overflows with beavers, martens, deer and thick-furred animals bearing valuable pelts.

Beneath the thin rocky soil lies deposits of iron ore and copper newly discovered by the Duke's men that promise future mining fortunes for those hearty enough to extract it. The cold, clear waters of the Great Lakes also teem with whitefish, trout, and sturgeon.
