Cell 3.47 was located on the third floor of B Wing at Stockon Gate Prison, in the middle of the East End of London. Known as The Gate, this prison had a reputation for being a difficult place to spend time. The prisoners living behind the doors of The Gate endured long cold winters in the Victorian slammer, which was condemned several times, but always closed.
