A long time ago, there was a very beautiful lake in the middle of a dense forest. There were many fishes and crabs in that lake. They all lived together happily. But every day a crane used to come to the shore of that lake and catch fish to satisfy his hunger. Whenever the crane reached the shore of the lake, a fight would start among all the fishes.

Days passed like this. Slowly the crane started becoming old and weak. He was not able to hunt like before. The crane sat down on the shore of the lake feeling very sad. Seeing the condition of the crane, the fishes of the lake became very happy. All the fish started swimming in front of the crane but the crane did not do anything to them, just kept sitting.

Some more days passed like this. Seeing the crane sitting at one place like this, the crab came to the crane and asked, “Brother, I have seen for two-three days that you are sitting here quietly, you have not caught a single fish, you have not even eaten food, what is the matter?” On hearing the crab's words, the crane started crying bitterly.

The crane said, "What should I tell you friend, I am very sad. A few days ago, an astrologer told me that this lake is going to dry up very soon. How will you all survive without water?
